The conversation no longer revolves around his size or humble credentials, but rather the 125 tackles and 18 sacks he’s registered in his first 62 regular-season games.
In a strong night of work by the Packers’ defensive front seven at Minnesota, no individual stood out more than defensive lineman Mike Daniels.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. today announced that Mike Daniels will be honored with the Hall’s ‘Most Valuable Player’ award, presented by Miller Coors, and Damarious Randall will be honored with the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award, presented by Ariens, at the 46th Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet. Former players Chad Clifton and Nick Collins, and former broadcaster Russ Winnie will become the newest members of the Hall at the banquet, to be held the evening of July 23, 2016, in the Lambeau Field Atrium.
“I think we can still get a little nastier,” Daniels said. “It’s been building up. It’s been growing every year. I think this is the year you could see it, the intensity out of the guys. Everybody’s looking forward to getting the pads back on as opposed to a handful of guys. That’s definitely a plus. I think the culture is great for the young guys who come in.”
With more experience in Dom Capers’ scheme than any other Packers’ lineman, Daniels understands his place in the defense and the responsibility he has to the younger players in the room, especially with B.J. Raji taking a hiatus.

It was the best play of Mason Crosby’s career that didn’t involve his right foot.
Crosby’s strip of Vikings kickoff returner Cordarrelle Patterson at the end of a 70-yard runback in the fourth quarter temporarily saved the game for the Packers. The Packers’ veteran kicker said the goal was to get a new contract with Green Bay worked out before free agency, and he couldn’t be happier it was accomplished.
“What better place to be than in Green Bay where I’ve started building a legacy these nine years and I’ve established myself here,” Crosby told a group of reporters at his locker on Wednesday, shortly after signing his new four-year deal. “I couldn’t really imagine playing anywhere else.”
As soon as Dan Bailey’s 52-yard field goal sailed through the uprights, Mason Crosby glanced up at the scoreboard at AT&T Stadium to survey the situation.
“Just get it done,” Crosby said of his thoughts when he got a shot at a game-winner after his high-bouncing onside kick was recovered by the Packers with 31 seconds left. “Go out there and do my thing. I’ve been hitting the ball great this year. I felt really good on it. I’ve got to come through there.
