Richard Christopher Rodgers II is an American football tight end for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Packers in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at California.
High school: Attended St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, Mass., where he was named a PrepStar All-American after leading all Massachusetts Division C-1 players in receiving, sacks and scoring as a senior in 2010…Caught 65 passes for 1,064 yards (16.4 avg.) and 16 TDs for a 12-1 squad that won the state’s Division IA Conference with a 5-0 league mark…At defensive end, registered 35 tackles, eight sacks, an interception, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries…Added seven carries for 61 yards (8.7 avg.) and a TD, 2-of-3 passing for 89 yards, a 37.2-yard punting average, seven punt returns for 73 yards (10.4 avg.) and four kickoff returns for 91 yards (22.8 avg.)…Was named the Defensive MVP of the Division IA Conference as a junior in 2009 after posting 42 tackles, three sacks and four INTs, including one he returned 75 yards for a TD…Added 49 receptions for 800 yards (16.3 avg.) and 20 TDs on offense as a junior…Also lettered all four years in basketball…Residence: Santa Rosa, Calif.
